Gordon Brown and his fellow world leaders have sparked outrage after it was disclosed they enjoyed a six-course lunch followed by an eight-course dinner at the G8 summit where the global food crisis tops the agenda.

[From G8 summit: Gordon Brown has eight-course dinner before food crisis talks - Telegraph]

Britain’s PM Brown has another moment in the sun… personally, I think being a world leader gives you a lot of perks and fine food and wine just goes with the beat, but he should keep his pie hole shut instead of lecturing the rest of us about “unnecessary demand” and wasted food. The only thing shocking about these stories is that they apparently come as a surprise to the people at the center of them.

While I do enjoy watching PM Brown and others like him hoisted up by his petard, it is a shame that the very real issue of global hunger as a consequence of poverty gets pushed aside in the process.

I’ll say it again: I will start acting like there is a crisis when people who are telling me there is a crisis start acting like there is a crisis.

How the fuck can you eat 18 dishes over 8 courses and 5 different wines just for dinner… after having finished a six course lunch?

Then the other do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do tidbit in this report details the transportation to the G8 Summit that PM Brown indulged in… entourage and security, okay a charter plane is a requirement but hey doesn’t Great Britain have any charter planes that will work?

He arrived on a plane chartered from Texas, America, which had to fly empty for thousands of miles to pick up the Prime Minister and his entourage.
