The current broadcast TV business is based on a mutual pretend world between TV advertisers and the broadcasters - both choose to believe Neilsen numbers as gospel and that TV advertising is effective.  They don&#039;t want to look at any better numbers on the viewership of programs (and more importantly, advertising) because that would shatter the illusion that the business model works and there would be fewer free tickets to Lakers/Knicks games floating around.  The status quo cannot last long term, but they are trying to delay that day as long as possible.  Doc   </description>
