That's one completely valid way of looking at it. I find that we're hitting the "Barbarians at the Gates" moment now for the Imperium Facebookum. http://www.wired.com/politics/security/news/2008/... Perhaps the threat isn't as bad as I think it is, but it's yet another step towards the chaos that its network used to isolate itself from.

It was pretty much only about a few games of scrabulous. Occasionally I update my status and add the odd friend. When you add those "... is twittering: ..." status updates, the annoyance and boredom factor is getting very high.

Jeff - If I didn't have friends and family on sharing photos and some comments, I would have ditched this FB by now. Really have not found a good use for it professionally, despite several attempts.

We launched an application on Facebook intended to allow users to meet new people for business or social purposes called TravelersTable. Thus far, we've gotten a mix of posted invites for networking meetings - everything from "let's chat" or less to invites clearly directed at business networking. Let me know what you think. We will begin promoting the app and the site more heavily in the coming weeks.

I still maintain a presence at FB only to keep my network "primed" in case I start looking for work. Scrabulous was the only reason I went there for fun, and I burned out on that pretty quick.
