[...] The executive keynotes of Peter Zencke and Vishal Sikka were mainly about Enterprise SOA, delivering new functionality for the business suite via enhancement packages and the switch framework, and new features of NetWeaver 7.1 (”Enterprise Services Repository”, “Process Integration” as advancement of Exchange Infrastructure and the “Composition Environment”). To make a long story short, it’s all about code-free modeling of processes, applications and user-interfaces based on services in a central repository today. You can read more about it on ZDNet and in Jeff Nolan’s post. [...]

Jeff-- Good seeing you at the show. I know its not nice to tease you, but if you thought the Eclipse stuff I showed in the demo was a strong demonstration of our commitment to making Eclipse the preferred IDE for SAP, you're going to be blown away by some of the stuff coming out in Eclipse in the very near future. I hesitate to use superlatives knowing all the skeptics in the EntIrr crew, but the stuff we're releasing next is truly earthshattering for the SAP developers of the world. Real quantum leaps in productivity and cost reductions. This ain't your daddy's SAP.

Jeff,
Good seeing you back on the SAP beat.
Excellent to see that a South African bank gets centre stage.
look forward to reading more as the event unfolds.
