Unionized Bloggers
In a move that might make some people scratch their heads, a loosely formed coalition of left-leaning bloggers are trying to band together to form a labor union they hope will help them receive health insurance, conduct collective bargaining or even set professional standards.
I was thinking that if I joined a […]
Usability - Phone Numbers
I’m in the car today looking at the Sirius radio display telling me "To activate please call 1-888-539-SIRI".
I stared at my Blackberry for a while trying to figure out how to dial "SIRI"… is it too much to say "To activate please call 1-888-539-SIRI (7474)"?

Fake Steve Isn’t Steve After All
I’m disappointed, to say the least. There are some things in life that don’t need to be explained, understood, and in this case, unveiled; Fake Steve is one of those things and my daily blog reading will be moderately less enjoyable now.
Thanks Brad… asshole.

AT&T’s CEO Has Cahonnes
"Randall Stephenson: We haven’t made it difficult to find. To be honest with you, that’s not a product that our customers have clamored for. We still have $15 offers out there in the marketplace, even $20 offers, for 1.5 megabit speeds. Those are really kind of the minimum speeds that give […]
Graffiti (the Urban Kind)
Read this today:
"Whether this is art or not, no one has the right to put it on someone else’s property,” he said. "Graffiti adds to the deterioration of a neighborhood. It’s urban blight. … If anyone gets seen defacing someone else’s property, we will come down here and we will prosecute.”

Heathrow Shames London
There’s a serious operational breakdown at Heathrow with security lines longer than many flights out of that key airport.
British Airways and Ryanair confirmed that as a result of the queues at check-in and security, some passengers on short-haul flights to European destinations were spending more time in airport terminals than [...]
Enterprise 2.0 and Wikipedia, Again
Zoli writes about the ongoing case of revisionism over at Wikipedia on the "enterprise 2.0" topic.
So supposedly Enterprise 2.0, which just in 2006 was not noteworthy or original enough to be mentioned in Wikipedia, has been used for half a decade. In that case, there sure is a lot of evidence [...]
Mole at DefCon
You would think that someone at Dateline, the NBC "investigative" journalism program and I use that term loosely, would have suggested that it would be a good idea to pick someone for mole duty that would actually fit in at DefCon.

It’s Official, Chrysler is Now Just Chrysler
3 facts are evident today after the closing of the Cerberus takeover of Chrysler:
Chrysler becomes one of the few privately owned car companies in the world, arguably the only major one.
The U.S. debt market is clearly in bad shape with Chrysler doubling their participation in the [...]
Microsoft Cuts Vista Price in Half
But only in China.
The price cut is the company’s latest effort to tackle the rampant software piracy in China, according to The Wall Street Journal. The theory is that if legitimate software costs less, people will be less likely to turn to pirated versions.
Or it could be an effort to thwart […]
