Jackie,
yeah, $30 for BB and hotspots is a good deal, at least $15 cheaper than the services separate.

BTW, I was just in Milan and my BB roamed just fine.

Does Jay or anyone have a link to this $30/mo deal? I'm not finding it, and I'm paying them more than that and NOT getting the wifi thrown in.

Like DSN said, T-Mobile has an all-in-one service for Blackberry users which is $30 for the Blackberry plan AND T-Mobile hotspots. I've been using this for over a year and it's a good deal.

T-Mobile wi-fi hotspot if you are not a cell customer is 29.99 a month plus about 18c a minute when roaming overseas. Boingo is 21.95 a month and 12c a minute overseas and just launched a global plan for flat 39 a month.

I used to have T-Mobile but now if I cannot access a free hotspot in US use my PDA as a modem - it is an undocumented feature...the line is not that fast but for a burst of mail download and send works fine...

But iPhone plus ATT is way overpriced for form/function and 2.5G access...see

Jeez, how'd you get that deal from T-Mobile? I have a Blackberry Pearl, and the ONLY deal they will do for that phone (in this area anyway) is $29.99/month for 300 minutes (NO free nights, but I get free weekends) plus a $19.99/month Blackberry unlimited add-on. They don't seem to do int'l roaming on the Blackberry, either, which is a pain, since I am in London about one week out of every month. I usually do not use all my minutes (I hate talking on the phone), but use about 40mb of data on my Blackberry every month.

It just seems like you're getting a hell of a lot more for only double what I'm paying, and I was never offered any options but the sucky 300 min/month plan. I wonder what gives.

Unlimited T-Mo wifi is $20 a month, but it's an Apple to orange comparison (?) considering that Apple's wifi isn't going to get you on T-Mo's network, and I use the wifi to connect my computer.

BTW, I hate paying that $20 a month but love it when I can connect in a starbucks or airport.

I looked at my last bill and even with Wifi and Blackberry service I am still only paying $107 a month, and that's getting me 150 extra minutes, which I do actually use cuz I go the full distance on my plan every month. Also, there is $7 of taxes on that bill, which will also go on the $99 AT&T bill so for all practical purposes the plans are the same price.

I'm still gonna give advantage T-Mobile on this front.

Jeff, did you enquire how much T-Mo charges for unlimited monthly WiFi at the Starbux locations on top of your existing plan? I think it is about $10 more, in which case it is a huge advantage...
