Jeff,

I want to pat you on the back and slap you silly simultaneously. As I was flying back from Enterprise 2.0 a post dancing around this very same topic was brewing in my head, only to see that you not only beat me to the punch, but you did it in a more concise and clear manner than I could've hoped for!

Great stuff,

Excellent post. This idea of moving from "platform thinking" to "distribution thinking" is a real mindshift.

Jeff -- once again, awesome insight and well-written. It frustrates me to no end when I talk to my former enterprise software colleagues when they view what's going on in FB and other places as just toys that have no application or analogy in the enterprise world. You're characterization of their attitude as "aging movie-stars" is dead-on.
