One of the main reasons there aren't a lot of donors in Holland, is the fact that there aren't enough car accidents. The number is quite low, which results in not enough non-ill donors. These are all concerning donors for non-relatives, to it's not required to be a relative. To be honest, I've never heard of the fact that donors need to be relatives, I don't think this is the case in Holland. By the way, there *are* actually talking about changing the law, but not the way you propose: currently you have to sign up to be a donor. A slight minority of the Dutch congres wants it the other way around: you *are* a donor, *unless* you sign up to not be one. Even the Dutch prime minister called the show 'not promoting Holland in the world', but the makers really did make a point and it has worked resulting in many more people signing up to be a donor or at least thinking about it.
