I used to use Yojimbo but the FF extension makes GNotebook a lot more convenient.

A backup to local copy would be a much appreciated feature. I don’t like the idea that I don’t have my own copy of notebook notes. There is a “export to google docs” which I guess is a two step way to save locally.

Sync with Mac Stickies would be really cool but Charlie told me that the Notebook API is read only and gives you access to public notebooks and not private ones. Sounds like they need to do some work to beef this up.

Google Notebook, especially with the Firefox plugin, it pretty neat. The beta had an annoying size limit for entries that I frequently bumped into. That appears to be gone now. And don't let other people check their gmail on your computer... notes you create afterwards end up in their notebooks, not yours! I thought Google lost a note I made yesterday, only to find it in my daughters notebook!

I still prefer a desktop solution like Yojimbo on the Mac or OneNote 2007 on Windows for saving quick notes. They are as easy to use (single key press or mouse click to create a note from the current selection), and the notes get indexed. I'm using Google Notebook occasionally because these apps can sync notes across computers, but not across platforms - I'm using a Mac at home, and a Windows PC at work.
