Twitter madness seems to have passed me by. I have trouble remembering to call my parents, why would I subscribe to know what someone is doing every minute of the day?

The interesting aspect of Twitter is the concept of converging communications via a single service. For me the idea of being able to control where and by what means people can contact at any time is very powerful.

Whether Twitter actually achieves converged communications in a meaningful manner or is overtaken by another service, I don't know.
