Buddy Cards

I just discovered this service from 30 Boxes, Buddy Cards. Identity is a big opportunity for web 2.0 companies to assert persistence. I really like how they are using blogs to drive virality, but the question that remains to be answered is whether they will be adopted as a core identity service by other services. It doesn’t appear that is how they are positioning the service in this incarnation, but it will be interesting to see how it evolves as the service matures and, presumably, gains traction.

30 Boxes is a great way to keep track of your web stuff and it allows you to easily maintain and share your identity (who you are and stuff you have on the web). When you comment on blogs that have Buddy Cards enabled 30 Boxes displays a nice pop up with information about you.
