Thanks for the pointer to that permalink converter, very useful. Personally, I prefer year/month formats myself for the reason that you do, which is why I set it up that way, Having said that, the p=xxx format shortens up the url and that is also desirable IMO.</description>

Personally i always prefer blog post URLs with date, so that when i search for in Google, without going to the article i know whether it falls in the relevant time period or not. Always wished NYT and WSJ did the same.</description>
