Hello Kevin,

Thank you for checking out our radio show website. As stated on our show website, The Technology For Business Sake program is brought to you by BlackBerry. You will also see on the home page Microsoft is a sponsor of the show. To date, one of the nine shows we've had so far had a representative of either sponsor. At the beginning of most shows we mention our sponsors and get on with the show. But we have complete say in what we discuss and who we have on our show. Our guests are free to say (and have said) what they want to say. And our guests come from the analyst community, vendor community, industry experts and best-selling authors.

I definitely would love for you to listen to a few shows and I think you won't find any intentional marketing going on. Our sponsors agree to the premise of our show and that marketing of any kind really wouldn't work. We are trying to help small business folks get a better understanding of some of the technologies and web developments that could help them compete. And look forward to having expert guests we think would capture our audience's attention as well as give them valuable insights and information. And needless to say if we do (hopefully) bring on other sponsors they will be represented on the show site.

I welcome hearing your opinions on the show once you get an opportunity to check a few. In fact you may want to check out our latest show with Geoffrey Moore as our guest. You can get to that show from the site homepage at www.BusinessTechnologyRadio.com.

Thanks again.

good points Kevin.

I don't mind the marketing angle, but like yourself, expect a level of disclosure about it.

Jeff, at first glance the speakers in the podcasts seam to be from the site/show's sponsors list. We recently spoke about the desire to at times say hey 'I want to be marketed to'. Is this one of those times for you or is this site really cool?

I was looking for some type of disclosure on the site that these were paid segments but couldn't find them. The site reminds me of United Airlines channel 6 (I think that is the number). Where you can pay 16k$ to have your company 'interviewed' in a news like fashion.

I've been to too many entrepreneurial events where the "guest speakers" are there pitching their product, consulting, coaching, etc.

Call me jaded.

[...] Courtesy of Jeff Nolan, here’s a cool podcasting site aimed at the small business. Might a feed from this site be a useful addition to your practice website? Anita Campbell, who headlines the site has Selling to Small Business. OK - so there’s a lot of that American style of content that Brits find a tad difficult to swallow. But there are plenty of nuggets in there as well. For instance, Anita references Jonathan Farrington who says about sales: 84% of all buying decisions are based upon emotion - not logic [...]
