I differ on one of the points above. To hit a customer dead - on - target, one needs to play psychologist. We need to understand the custmer and what exactly the solution to their needs is! I have customers who pay premium right out the door because our solution addresses their specific (mark - SPECIFIC) need right to the dot...and they will pay the extra for that! Coupled with remaining a customer for a long period of time.
On the software dise of things, that industry is saturated. EVery direction you turn there's a software company...well all that data has to sit somewhere, coupled with the bandwith they'll chew etc. Virtualization is great but everyon has forgotten about cross and retrocompatibility of systems...I could go on. Well...this is why I'm gradually exiting the technology field and self - funding my venture (though I wish I knew a VC who'd give me 20 minutes....just 20 minutes of their time)
