even better is to skype in the air….
although it did erk the guy sitting next to me, it was good to call home for free from 35,000 feet.
Perhaps as in the olden days, when you had smoking and non-smoking sections, we will get phone sections and phone-free sections. (actually some trains have that now)

Not a huge deal. I text all of the time from domestic flights. The ban on cell phones is just silly, no technical justification, so I just keep my phone on and text folks on the “fly”. This works anywhere near an urban area, so my roundtrips SJ to SeaTac are always in range.
