		<description>But therein lies the tension, the people that are most adept at working the word-of-mouth/guerilla/community marketing typically don&#039;t play well with the formal marketing folks (and vice-versa). It&#039;s growing pains, plain and simple. 

BTW, I think that Riya does have a lot of work to do if they really aren&#039;t just in it to get acquired. I use the service and love it, but 8 out of 10 people I mention it to (predominately tech-centric by the way) aren&#039;t aware of them.</description>

It&#039;s not an OR. It&#039;s an AND.  The blogosphere is and remains a key Early Adopter group.  But scale requires communicating in multiple channels.  Different channels address different constituencies.  The investment in each channel is a resource allocation question.   Awareness and trial of Riya  in the Web 2.0 segment of the blogosphere is pretty high.  Now its about repeat usage (which is about making sure the product rocks) and exposing Riya to new audiences.
