How difficult would it be for the G.Y.M to build a Wiki instead of having to buy one for a few mil? I don't think they are so technically challenged!

What is the real deal here?

I love the Yahoo!Local idea, but I also think this would make huge sense to add into Yahoo Groups. Also - consider this as a more advanced builder for Yahoo auctions. There are many possible connection points.

Mike,
That's a very good point, which actually leads us to another inflection point about what a wiki really is.... if just a page with text then it's kind of boring, however a small business that could tap into a yahoo! local wiki page with basic crm functionality attached to it might be more compelling.

It would be more interesting if the businesses in Yahoo! Local paid attention to the wikis attached to their pages. Small business people have lots to do, and unless they have a technology/online bent, a wiki would be "just one more thing to worry about," which generally means it would be poorly handled.

But to someone genuninely interested in customer conversations, it would be terrific.

Considering Yahoo's relationship with PB Wiki, this move would be a surprise but stranger things have happened.
