About 30% of my total traffic comes from search engines, which I continue to be surprised by but whatever. All of the tips in the attached post are good optimization techniques, but don’t discount the power of a good post title.
“Manugistics Goes Out with a Whimper, Jeremy Coote Strikes Again” generates a lot more clickthroughs than “JDA Acquires Manugistics”.
To think that researching and placing keywords in the “right places†alone with improve a blog’s traffic is only part of the story. Blogs are simply web sites with special features. Getting web sites to rank well and to engage more traffic involves a large number of variables. The same rules apply to blogs.
